That means that pigs get to root, run and play; chickens get to peck, scratch and crow; turkeys' goggle and strut; cows eat grass outside, NOT corn in confinement.

acres of pasture and woodlots on the home farm while we lease another 130
acres of pastures and hay fields in and around Deerfield Ohio.
All land is managed in an intensive rotational management system with multiple species of livestock.
All meat and eggs are sold through farmers markets (3 summer, 3 winter), on farm store, online sales, and restaurant sales.
Livestock Details:
Pasture-raised pigs Pastured, Free-range broilers.
Pasture-raised turkeys Grass-fed cattle Grass-fed sheep Free-range laying hens Livestock Guardian Dogs and donkeys Apiary Farm Hand Job
Responsibilities:
Ensure daily chores including watering, feeding and pasture rotation of livestock is completed.
Communicate with asst livestock manager on overall animal health.
Report any issues immediately to farm manager.
Work together to problem solve.
Mow and clear fence lines Tractor work and basic equipment maintenance Fence building, maintenance and functionality and general carpentry projects Farm Hand Job Skills and
Qualifications:
Passion for working with animals.
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humor Creative problem-solving skills.
An appreciation of the roles speed and efficiency play in creating an economically viable farm - interest in learning and implementing Lean manufacturing techniques in a farm environment.
Ability to lift 50
lbs repeatedly is required.
Ability to operate power tools and mechanical equipment safely.
Willingness to work long hours in all weather conditions.
Tractor experience a plus General carpentry and building skills a plus.
Dedication, reliability, and a great work ethic This is a full-time hourly position.
Compensation determined by experience.
In addition, Farm Hand will receive discounts on meat and eggs.
